Microsoft Lync becomes Skype for Business with More Than Just a Name Change

In a move announced some time ago, Microsoft have now officially updated Lync to become the new Skype for Business. With more than just a name change, Skype for Business integrates features from both Lync and Skype into a new unified communications platform for business providing instant messaging, video conferencing, screen sharing and more.

Skype for Business is ideal for scheduling and running online meetings with attendees able to join from their computer, tablets or smart phones.

For Microsoft Office 365 users the automatic upgrade from Lync to Skype for Business has already started to roll out. If your computer hasn’t been updated yet it soon will, but if you don't think you can wait that long, manually updating is super easy.
